“Sino-US Teacher Exchange Program” is a public benefit program jointly carried out by China Education Association for International Exchange, the National Committee on United States-China Relations, and Yihai Education Group. By teaching in the other country for a year, Chinese and American teachers can learn the other country’s education, society, politics and economy, bring the knowledge and experience back to their own classrooms and share in their own schools, areas and even wider scopes. Sino-US Teacher Exchange is of great significance to promoting Sino-US exchange and common development in fields such as culture and education, etc.
On May 7, 2012, the National Committee on United States-China Relations and Yihai Education Group held an agreement signing ceremony in Yihai Branch of Beijing No. 8 High School for the “Sino-US Teacher Exchange Program”. Leaders including Orlins, Chairman of the National Committee on United States-China Relations, Yihai Education Group’s Board Chairwoman Wang Linda, and Sun Xiaoqing, Director of the Department for American and African Affairs of China Education Association for International Exchange, attended the signing ceremony and each gave a speech. Since this Exchange Program was put into effect in 1996, China has sent 312 middle school teachers to teach in the USA, and accepted 110 teachers from the USA to teach in China. The Teacher Exchange this time will have 10 Chinese teachers go to the USA and 4 American teachers come to China.
